One of the world's finest saxophone players diving into one of the world's most passionate forms of music.
After seeing Sally Potter's film 'The Tango Lesson', Barbara became entranced by the rythmical and harmonic scope of the Tango. All tracks - including the album opening suite Tango 1-4 - were composed by Barbara Thompson, except for two fascinating tracks penned by Keyboarder Peter Lemer and one version of John Coltrane's immortal standard Naima. Jon Hiseman produces, engineers and drums as usual. The line-up is completed by brilliant young Billy Thompson on violin and Dave Ball, a Paraphernaila veteran, on bass.´
