| Musical reunions are neither rare nowadays, nor do they seem to have any special value. In times when retrospective attitudes dominate the market, musically innovative aspects often lose out. There are, however, exceptions to this rule, such as Pork Pie’s rediscovery. More than 20 years after the short-lived, yet highly popular band split up, not before going down in history as Europe’s answer to American jazz-rock domination, Jasper Van't Hof, Charlie Mariano and guitarist Philip Catherine, supported by Don Alias on drums, got together again. They had a lot to tell each other, especially since the three original members’ constantly veering musical careers had criss-crossed at various points on the way. |
