''His first studio-recording for 16 years, and still Theodorakis is a symbol of hope.'' (Stereoplay)

"About the songs on my new album…
I have been very fortunate to have worked with talented poets, so that the message contained in the lyrics of my songs can be considered timeless. When they were translated, many people were surprised that these “unpolitical” songs aroused a “revolutionary spirit” among Greeks. The reason for this is still valid today: There are always dictatorships. The infamous regimes are just the tip of the iceberg. The daily dictatorship exists in our society, within us, around us, in our families. And I believe that there is nothing more effective as an antibody against dictatorship than music. Music makes people more beautiful and humane. Thus, these songs reveal their true dimension, twenty years after they were written – even the ones I wrote during the years of the Junta. They appeal to the thoughtful, sensitive modern people who feel a rupture within themselves. And I believe that each person has such a rupture deep within, for humanity can only progress through doubt."
(Mikis Theodorakis, 1991)
